Early Thursday morning came news of a severely neglected dog, starved and near death, who was found in a Walmart parking lot in Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania. The dog, who was in such poor condition when he was first found that a temperature could not even be found on a thermometer, was not able to survive.
What happened?
According to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, the dog was near death when he was first picked up – tragically, his poor condition proved to be unsurvivable. A few hours ago, the animal welfare agency wrote:
We are sad to report that our rescue dog of yesterday passed away. He was given “round the clock” medical care since he came to the shelter. His damages were just too great. He at least crossed to the rainbow bridge peacefully and without pain.
Adding:
We will continue the criminal investigation. This was not just a starvation case; it was a cruelty case. The dog was found at Walmart parking lot. Anyone with any information, please contact us.
Information wanted!
The animal welfare society is hoping to find out who is responsible for the dog’s pitiful condition. Anyone with information is asked to call the shelter’s Humane Line at 724-689-2749.

As sad as it is that this precious Furbaby died, at least he knew loving care during his final hours instead of dying alone, afraid, in pain and unloved…..
