An admitted dog killer in New Jersey has been given the maximum sentence for his crime of aggravated cruelty to animals. According to News 10, on Friday, Judge James A. Murphy III sentenced 27-year-old Hank Smith, of Clifton Park, to two years in prison after he admitted to killing a miniature pinscher named Nicholas.

Nicholas belonged to Terri Brewer – someone who Smith knew. Brewer provided a victim impact statement – in the statement she said that Nicholas was part of her family, and outlined the struggles that she has endured after the loss of her dog, reported The Daily Gazette.
District Attorney’s Statement
District Attorney Heggen released a statement after the dog’s killer was sentenced:
“Crimes against innocent, helpless animals can be particularly difficult to piece together. No sentence can ever bring back Nicholas, but the result today continues to demonstrate the commitment of my office to hold animal abusers accountable for their actions.”

I hope that there is a lot of animals in the prison where he is and the inmates give him a bloody good beating in which he justly deserves in what he did to the dog.
