Neglected puppy, hit by car, still has terrible intake photo on shelter site

A badly neglected puppy, who suffered further misery when she was hit by a car, is waiting to be saved at the San Antonio Animal Care Services facility in Texas. The five-month-old puppy, dubbed Mercy, has been at the animal care facility since August 26 – and her terrible intake photo is still featured on the shelter’s website.

An advocate issues a plea for the injured pup

On Monday, an advocate issued a Facebook plea on Mercy’s behalf:

MERCY was hit by a vehicle and has been in the shelter clinic for over 20 days and still has this horrible picture on her pet harbor link🤐 MERCY is estimated at 5 months old and appears to have been horribly neglected in her short life 💔 she has demodex mange which is Not contagious and TREATABLE.

Saving Mercy

Imagine being injured, sick and homeless. That is Mercy’s reality – she should be recuperating from her maladies in the comfort of a home – not in a shelter kennel. You can help Mercy get the assistance that she desperately needs by taking a moment to share this article with her adoption information.
