alone, neglect and unwanted, does anyone care

A four-year-old dog at a busy Texas animal control agency shows signs of neglect and injury. The dog, who has not even been given a name, is unwanted and on the list to be put down…but does anyone even care about a beat up, neglected dog?

Will help arrive?

Animal lovers have been networking on behalf of the downtrodden dog – dubbed Simon – but no one has stepped up to save his life. The most recent update for Simon states that he is on the list to be put down Monday morning. He was on the “list” for the weekend, but somehow managed to skirt death.

Does anyone care about another homeless dog?

Shelters are packed, rescue groups are overflowing, and people have grown numb to the constant barrage of “please help!” postings on social media. Will anyone care enough about Simon to do something? A volunteer visited the dog and described him as “very sweet and lovable.” Judging by Simon’s body, it is unlikely that he has ever known a moment of love or kindness in his life.

Your chance to help

The clock is ticking and little time remains for Simon, but you can try to help by networking this article with his adoption information.

  1. It is so sad to see this, A desperate, sad injured dog needing friend , someone who cares, offering love, but only being threatened with death. Bless Him, I hope someone comes through for him X

  2. This dog needs a savior to help him and hope there is someone in Texas who will pull, foster or adopt this neglected dog. He has multiple bruises, cuts over his whole body due to living on the streets and fighting to protect himself. Please Texas, help this dog get saved and not killed.

  3. As it is Monday afternoon in Mountain DLS time Simon is more than likely GONE as TEXASS IS DAMN QUICK to get EUTHANSIA TOP PRIORITY on the LIST of DAILY DUTIES ::: It is sad that ANY animal in YOUR HEATHEN STATE has to fear death at the drop of a HAT. Harris county Being the Worse of the Worst!!! Nothing will CHANGE and with out RESCUE DOGS ROCK NEW YORK it would be EVEN worse !!!! I am so sorry this dog had to die because No ONE Cared on SHIT down in that AWFUL , CRUEL , STATE from HELL :: I think you should succeed from the UNION and become Little Mexico!!!

  4. I care, would love to bring him home and heal him and give him a happy, secure life. But what do you do when you’re getting up in years and already have several young rescued dogs in an immediate family with only 2 people left and actually need to have fewer dogs rather than more? We don’t want to leave any dogs behind when we die. It’s awful, so heartbreaking! I want all of the millions of dogs in desperate need to be mine. Anyone who has room for one more, both legally (county limits the numbers) and within your means, age, etc., should be honored and thrilled to step up for this dog and be his adopter. I so look forward to a good update on him, hope he hasn’t already been killed for the benefit of dog breeders. That’s what all the killing’s about… do away with them for convenience while people are encouraged to buy “brand new” puppies as if they’re toys. Those purebreds, too, end up in kill shelters later on, when their flaky “owners” move on to new “lifestyles” or just get tired of caring for the not-so-baby-like-and-cute-any-more dog. Dog breeders are the bane of us all. To the netherworld with them all.

  5. I just received this post and it’s Monday nite how much does anyone care that it isn’t put on social media until the nite of the day this portion dog was to be put down. This poor dog was never give a proper chance how very sad what kind of place is this

    • it was published in the morning…all posts are placed on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google Plus minutes after being published

  6. I’m trying to find a rescue to tag him and to arrange transport to Colorado – if Simon can get here I’ll take him in. If I had the ability I’d be driving to Texas this very second.
