In Lansing, New York, a 24-year-old man is alleged to have killed a woman’s pet rabbit in a microwave oven following an argument. Seth C. Decker was arrested on Thursday and has been charged with felony animal cruelty.
According to the Rochester First, on Wednesday evening, State Troopers were dispatched to a gas station to speak with the owner of the rabbit. The woman stated Decker threatened to hurt her rabbit and another person. A witness, who had been at the Lockersby Hill Road home saw Decker put the pet rabbit into the microwave and turn it on.
When authorities arrived at the home, the rabbit was dead.
Decker has since been arrested and is charged with Agriculture and Markets felony of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Bail was order at $2,000 in cash or $4,000 of property bond.
