A mother and son in Osceola County, Florida, were arrested this week after the authorities found 28 neglected dogs in what is described as a “living hell,” reported WFTV News. Maria Reyes and her son, Jimmy Figueroa, were arrested after deputies found 28 dogs living on chains, and the bodies of two burned dogs in a garbage can.

Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson described the horrific conditions:

“It’s living hell for these animals and I don’t ever want to see that in Osceola county. There were sharp ends of the nails sticking up from the floor in some of the kennels and the dogs were stepping on the sharp ends, just, I mean, things that would turn a pet owner’s stomach.”

Surviving dogs were taken in by the Osceola County Animal Control – some dogs were in such poor condition that they had to be euthanized.

An investigation into the situation began after the authorities received complaints about possible dog-fighting and drug deals happening at the property.

    • Totally agree! Death penalty by torture and starvation! We need stronger laws in every state, so they never see the light of day, nor get million dollar contracts with the NFL !! Life in prison isn’t enough in my opinion.

  1. Sick evil people pigs poor animals I pray they will get homes & caring family these sick people need to burn in hell & die bg

  2. Sooooo….. since there is no denying what these monster did, and the hell they put these animals through… are they going to be PUNISHED or are they receiving a slap on the hand?

  3. Lord why do this so call humans,to this to this innocent dogs. I hope they suffer a life of no peace in their, hearts, mind and soul with nightmares for the rest of their phathic life.

  4. Oh my G9d….when is it ever gonna end….make sure they are legal & then prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law….why would they put nails in the bottom of the cages….Monsters & they must pay.

  5. Disgusting people. I am so glad their are good people like the sheriff who will not stand back and watch evil treat animals this way. And thank you to those who called on these monsters. These neighbors are heroes. “Evil thrives when good people do nothing”

    • Totally agree. Laws need to be stronger in every state for animal cruelty. Direct correlation with human violence! These 2 deserve the death penalty by starvation and torture!

  6. HOPE THESE 2 MONSTERS SLEEP AT NIGHT WITH HAVING DOGS TO LIVR IN HELL, AND WHY ANIMAL CONTROL DECIDES RIGHT AWAY TO EUTHANIZE THE DOGS IN POOR CONDITION IS ALSO JUST AS EVIL AS THESE TWO! THE DOGS IN POOR CONDITION ENDURED ENOUGH IN LIVING HELL CONDITIONS AND THEN KILLED. THE ANIMAL CONTROL ARE JUST AS EVIL THAT DO NOT FIGHT FOR THE VOICELESS!

  7. When will authorities step up and make examples of these human hunks of sewer slime? Maria Reyes and Jimmy Figueroa are prime examples of what should be in prison for at LEAST 25 years. Their neglect and cruel treatment of these dogs proved they are no more than trash and should be treated as such.
