On Sunday, bail for an Arlington Heights man was set at $100,00 after a surveillance video showed the man punching and dragging a dog down a West Englewood neighborhood sidewalk with an extension cord around its neck.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, Isaac Goodlow, 24, was charged with felony animal cruelty on Saturday after officers responded to an emergency alert that a man was punching, dragging, kicking, whipping and choking a dog. Officers saw Goodlow dragging the dog along the sidewalk with the extension cord wrapped around the dog’s neck.
A subsequent police report stated the dog “was scared, shaking, injured, emaciated and dehydrated.” When officers gave the dog water, the dog vomited. Transferred to the MedVet, treating veterinarians reported the dog had numerous injuries both new and healing.
When interviewed by police and asked why he was punching and kicking his dog, Goodlow stated that was how he “tames him,”
Goodlow is scheduled to be back in court on Friday.
