A New York man, accused of starving his senior dog, is facing a charge of animal cruelty. On Monday, the Suffolk County SPCA issued a release about the incident, which involved a 10-year-old pit bull named Tank.
According to the animal welfare agency, on Friday, 37-year-old Jovan Robinson of West Babylon, was charged with with misdemeanor animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance to his senior dog, who was malnourished enough that his bones could be easily seen.
The Suffolk County SPCA launched an investigation into the situation after receiving complaints that Tank had been neglected. Robinson will be arraigned in First District Court in Islip on March 18.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
