An Arizona man was sentenced to 29 years in prison for decapitating his wife and their two dogs during a meth induced stupor. After the brutal slayings, Kenneth Wakefield gouged out his eye and chopped off his forearm. On Friday, Wakefield pleaded guilty.

According to AZCentralNews, Wakefield apologized to his wife’s family in Maricopa County Superior Court for the vicious attack on July 25, 2015. Both he and his deceased wife had been in prison and serving ten years for stabbing a relative when they met. At the time of the killing of Trina Heisch, Wakefield stated he was  “trying to get the evil out” of her and the dogs.

He received 25 years in prison for the murder, and two years for each of the dog killings.  Both small dogs had also been decapitated. Wakefield had been seeking an insanity defense after admitting he had been high on meth and synthetic marijuana. Instead, a plea agreement was made and finalized on Friday sending Wakefield to prison.

  1. Oh my gosh! If anyone who is on drugs and do a crime pleads insanity, then anyone can choose to take drugs and kill and get away with it. That is ridiculous.

    • Exactly!!!!! Hope the ONLY way he leaves prison is in a cardboard box……

And I know he will burn in Hell forever for his cruelty…….

  2. Life in prison would have been better and why only 2 years each for the dogs? Isn’t a dog’s life worth more than 2 years? I hope he dies in prison, he belongs there never to see the outside again!

  3. There should have been NO plea deal. He chose to do drugs. He committed murder and should pay the time. The time for the dogs was good but he should have gotten life for his wife. This is sick. Show him the firing squad and be done with it. Damn having to support him for 29 years.

  4. Well !!! That is a Pathetic Sentence out there in ARIZONA … I can only hope that the few inmates that are NOT DRUG INDUCED PSYCHOS are “REAL” Good Dog lovers. and that the opportunity to emasculate this Living Filth Pit and make sure he CHOKES on HIS so-Called Manhood till he perishes from this earth. Other wise he will be out of there within 6-10 years and on the street again!!!! NOT!!!!

  5. He should have been executed! This is why animals need legal rights! Maybe they could have been rescued from this home before he murdered those sweet dogs!

  6. I remember this from the news. It is unfortunate the little dogs crossed paths with this funky pair of addicts. It’s all too sad. Such a gruesome killing of his wife and their pets. With any luck, he will never make it out of prison.

  7. Another useless crackhead pleading insanity to get sympathy – he is not insane – he is a frigging criminal and deserves to be locked up for the rest of his crap life. He should have received more for the innocent dogs he killed – as for his wife, I truly don’t care – two human hunks of trash is all they were – she’s dead and he is in prison – the dogs did nothing – they were not criminals, crackheads or lowlifes. I hope he becomes a victim of every predatory inmate every day, all day long and they give him exactly what he deserves – NO MERCY!
