Late Monday morning, a man tumbled over a steep cliff while trying to rescue his dog, who had gotten away from him at Thornton State Beach in Daly City, California. According to CBS News, the man’s dog managed to avoid going over the steepest part of the cliff and was safely retrieved from his perch by rescuers who responded to the scene.
Witnesses to the tragic incident noted that the dog seemed to know that something was wrong…he could be seen pacing and barking as responders worked to remove the man’s body…an estimated 500 feet below the place where he slipped and fell.
The park area does not have leash laws in place, but dog walkers are encouraged to keep their pets restrained, or under strict voice control. The dog was returned to the man’s family.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”
