In Leesburg, Florida, the owner of a German shepherd was arrested on Monday after he attached a 13-lb weighted vest and forced his dog to repeatedly jump into the water.

According to Wftv9News, eyewitnesses stated the dog’s owner, Dennys Jose Luque, had ordered his dog to jump off a boat ramp, chasing a ball while wearing the 13-lb vest as “some type of exercise.” The dog jumped in twice, but the third time he no longer returned to shore. Luque jumped in, along with several other people, but could not find the dog. After five minutes, Luque left the scene.

In an interview with authorities, Luque, who is homeless, has been charged with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty for putting the belt on the dog and a felony count of animal cruelty for sending the dog into the water with the belt on.

The dog’s body was found later that night wearing the weighted vest.

Rest in peace sweet dog.

  1. This man has a serious mental problem! Should be wearing a weighted vest himself and be forced to jump into the ocean multiple times. See how many times he can jump! RIP pup you tried your best but your guardian was irresponsible.

  2. Dennys Jose Luque ought to be hunted down, have a 100 lb weight strapped to him, then throw his sub-human maggot ass into the same lake repeatedly until almost dead. Then pull his sadistic ass out and ask: do YOU think this is a good way to exercise? Cannot believe that a homeless person MURDERED his only companion. The ONLY good thing here is that the poor dog won’t have to be abused anymore by this waste of life monster. RIP good dog. Sick and tired of people NOT thinking before doing senseless crap like this. Charge him, then LOCK HIM UP! I hope someone in jail dunks his scumbag head in a toilet until he cannot breathe. Period!

  3. I suppose his excuse is he didn’t know the dog would drown with a weighted vest on? How can someone be so inhuman, if it was exercise he was looking to provide, then chasing the ball without the vest would have sufficed. There is a special place in Hell for this POS, and I hope he goes there soon. Rest in peace poor dog, you didn’t deserve this!

  4. I’ll give this f*kwad a “home”: A pine box in a six foot hole… goddam som’bitch!

Why didn’t those observing bystanders step up and STOP THIS ATROCITY!!

    SHAME-SHAME-SHAME!

  5. This excuse that tying a 13 lb weight to a dog and forcing it to jump into water is some kind of exercise is nothing more than a bunch of bullshit. The hunk of sewer sludge named D.J. Luque intentionally wanted this poor animal to drown – this is another example of authorities lack of brain power – this should be FELONY ANIMAL CRUELTY all the way around – he needs to be treated as poorly as he treated an innocent dog.

  6. Make him put the vest on and force him to jump. Let’s see how many times he comes up. Hopefully not three times.

  7. You effen skinhead ASSHOLE!!!Hope someone “takes care” of you on the street! You deserve to die a very.long and painful death!!
