In DeKalb County, Georgia, a man has been accused of picking up a small dog and throwing it off an exit ramp. Witnesses notified police on Wednesday as they caught sight of the man throwing the dog 15 to 20 feet below.
According to CbsNews, Michael Copeland, 48, was arrested after officials allege he picked up the small dog and threw it onto the highway at the I-20 eastbound exit ramp to Wesley Chapel Road. Copeland was arrested and transferred to the DeKalp County Jail where he has been charged with animal cruelty. The small dog died at the scene as he hit the highway below.
It is not known if the dog belonged to Copeland. More information to be provided as an investigation continues.
