Washington man arrested and charged with animal cruelty
A man in Spokane County, Washington, is accused of a gruesome attack on his ex-girlfriend’s favorite horse. As reported by Q13 news, 45-year-old Clint P. Burrill has been arrested and charged with first-degree animal cruelty for killing the horse, which belonged to him. Details of the heinous attack are heartbreaking.
The gruesome details
Burrill is accused of cutting off the horse’s tail and further torturing the horse. Sheriff’s deputies who responded to Burrill’s home last week found the dead horse outside of a pen. One of the horse’s ankles was tied with a short rope to a fence…the other ankle was “cinched around” the horse’s neck. A pool of blood was found by the horse from the chopped off tail. More blood (a significant amount) also came out of the horse’s mouth and nose. There were signs of a significant struggle.
The reason for the cruel attack
Burrill allegedly launched this despicable attack because his girlfriend would not get back together with him. The man allegedly threatened to kill her favorite horse if she continued to refuse him. The woman decided to break things off with Burrill because“serious mental health issues which caused him to be violent with her.”
The accused horse-killer was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
