A four-year-old rescue dog is dead after one of his owner’s neighbors allegedly shot him for peeing on trees. According to MyNDNow.com, 63-year-old Brian Johnson, of Good Thunder, Minnesota, is facing a felony animal cruelty charge for shooting and killing the dog named Diesel.

The allegations

Johnson has admitted to shooting Diesel on June 3 after the dog wandered into his yard – he has stated that he was “tired of the dog peeing on his trees.” The shooter also expressed concern that the dog would behave aggressively towards his grandchildren, but admitted that he had never observed any aggressive behavior from the dog.

The dog’s owner

Diesel’s owner, Carrie Dolsen, has admitted that her dog sometimes wandered away from home when he was “startled.” She claims that the man who killed the dog never approached her with concerns about him. She stated, “I can’t believe anybody could be so cruel. I just want justice for my baby and I don’t want anybody else to have to go through this.”

The take away from this tragedy

Dogs should not be allowed to wander unsupervised – they can get lost, hit by a car, stolen, or hurt by someone with cruel intentions. It is crucial to be a responsible pet owner at all times.

  1. The owner shares some fault here, you have to keep your dog home and know where they are, not let them roam the neighborhood you never know when you have a gun happy POS for a neighbor. Why didn’t the POS confront the dog’s owner before killing someone’s pet? Had the owner been aware that the dog was being a nuisance to their neighbor then they may have kept a better eye on the dog. If the POS had a problem with the dog and the owner did nothing then call the authorities for God sake and don’t just shoot and kill an innocent pet. I am really getting tired of these gun toting idiots that think nothing of killing their neighbor’s pets without at least trying to come to a resolution!

  2. This is insanity and cruelty BEYOND WORDS! Hang the sick F …. bastard from one of his precious trees and use him for some target practice!

  3. If you have a problem with a neighbor’s dog, let them know in a decent way,not anger and see what can be worked out. Certainly trying this would have been the best solution instead of killing your neighbor’s dog for peeing on your trees. My gosh, what would happen if a child started doing something you didn’t like on your lawn, shoot them too?

  4. The Man that Shot First without warning is a COMPLETE Total ASSHOLE and SHOULD Spoken to The female owner WHO IS STUPIMD and INCONSIDERATE & CAUSED the DEATH of her DOG BUY NOT GIVING A SHIT about other peoples property AND RIGHTS!!! Did she EXPECT her POOR MISGUIDED DOG to KNOW he would get SHOT for PEEING on a TREE in SOMEONE’s YARD… !! Most people wouldn’t be That Aggressive… as the ASSHOLE NEIGHBOR EITHER!!!
