A lucky pup survived having been nearly crushed to death in a garbage truck after workers found him at a landfill in Ipswich, Australia. By some miracle the Jack Russell survived, as he was tossed around in the back of the truck as it crushed the garbage along the route.

According to the Daily Mail, footage released by the RSPCA on Wednesday from closed circuit video, showed it seemed impossible that the little dog was able to escape as he came so close to the truck’s compactor as it compressed the trash. Video shows he fell out of a red bin into the truck along with a load of household garbage. Workers were surprised when they found the dog they initially nicknamed Tippie; his feet had been tangled up after having been wrapped in a bag and thrown into the truck.

“This dog was found by the workers. He was found on site and tangled in rubbish and they initially thought it had been tied up and put in the bag as it was covered in ropes and tape while half in a bag,” stated RSPCA spokesperson Michael Beatty. “They cleaned it up, gave it food and water and then called the RSPCA where we were then able to assess it for injuries.”

The dog’s owners have since come forward and stated their dog, whose real name is Zoro, had been stolen. Little Zoro did suffer a broken hip and will undergo surgery this week. It is believed the dog was purposely thrown into the garbage. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RSPCA and call 1300 ANIMAL.

Zoro is currently back home with his family. Get well soon little guy.

  1. So happy Zorro was found and is going to be okay!
I hope they find the scumbag responsible and throw him into the nearest compactor WITHOUT intervention. How many other innocent pets has this person done this to who weren’t saved?

  2. Although this little guy was hurt I am so VERY HAPPY Zoro had a family that cared enough for him That they came forward and claimed him… and he is safe …. and will soon again be sound…

  3. Glad Zoro is back with his family. Hope video shows who did this or someone rats on this slim that intentionally did this to the dog. He/they should also have to pay all vet bills. Thank god the workers saw this dog before it was too late. Some scum worthless maggot who thought it was fun to do. Do the same to him/them when they are caught.
