For months, Louie the Mastiff wandered in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. His eyes tell his awful story, and the abuse this dog has suffered makes rescuers angry and sad. On Saturday, Louie was rescued; he would finally get the help he deserves.
“Just look at that mangled foot, look at his open wound on his hip, look at his back,” Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC posted on the organization’s social media page. “His skin is lifeless and hardened like cement, but dogs like Louie are why we are here and doing what we do.”
Veterinarians were also horrified at the abuse this dog must have endured. His hind leg had been damaged months ago and will have to be amputated. At this time, however Louie is too weak to survive surgery. First he will need to put on weight and regain some of his lost strength. And even though this boy has suffered from lack of care and human neglect, his tail still wags, and he remains sweet to everyone he meets.

What the hell do people in Texas do to dogs for something like this not only to happen to poor Louie, but for no one to notice him and his mangled leg and if he has an owner, which he probably has/had, why wasn’t he just taken to a shelter and say you found this dog like this. The state of Texas has to be at the top of the states that have the highest level of animal abuse in their state. The people of Texas should be ashamed of their state for letting this happen. Second to Texas is Florida’s Redlands area where people actually stop their car and dump their dog on the road and drive off and leave their animal to mingle amongst the other dogs who have been dumped. Our country is becoming a cesspool of filth and no politician from any of these states care what happens.

The ABUSE doesn’t DECREASE IT continuous to ESCLATE at a PACE that is impossible to GET UNDER CONTROL without INTERVENTION of the State Government of Texas, Local Law Enforcement Agencies, Rescues, Non-Profit organizations, such as the Boy Scouts, FFA , and other Educational Organizations… & most of ALL the VERY CARING PEOPLE that ACTUALLY DO LIVE in TEXAS!!! COME ON people be PROUD of The LONE STAR STATE and make it FLY PROUD again… WHAT is HAPPENING down there IS NOT THE AMERICAN WAY!!! This is Nothing short of DISGUSTING!!!
