A young Yorkie puppy was very lucky when a local man found him on a country road in Co Longford stuffed into a zipped plastic bag. The abandoned Yorkshire terrier was found in a “frozen and tramatised state” in Derryharrow, Ireland; the man cut open the bag so the dog wouldn’t suffocate and contacted the Irish SPCA.
According to the Independent, the dog, now dubbed Louis, suffered no injuries. He did not have a microchip as required by law, and it is not known who owned the one-year-old pooch. The dog is now in the care of the National Animal Center where he is being treated for parasites, will be vaccinated, neutered. microchipped and be made available for adoption.
“It’s disturbing to imagine what this little dog went through and despite his ordeal, Louis is such a kind, loveable (sic) and gentle little dog. This horrific act of cruelty is simply appalling,” stated ISPCA Inspector Karen Lyons.
The matter is currently under investigation. Please contact the National Animal Cruelty Hotline at 1890 515 515 with any information. Help Louis find some justice. People who are this irresponsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

My instinct with a tiny puppy is to snuggle and cuddle, give treats, talk to the furbaby…… NOT stuff the precious little treasure into a duffel and dump it…….
I can’t believe how anyone could ever be so cruel……
I hope this precious little treasure recovers ASAP and finds a wonderful furever home where he will be a beloved family member.
