At just 10 months of age, a beautiful puppy has already been let down by life. The pup, dubbed Fiona (ID#A157381), is so upset by her current situation in life that she shakes in her kennel run at the OC Animal Care in Tustin, California.

On May 14, an advocate created a Facebook post on the puppy’s behalf:

Stab me in the heart 🐶💔😥
She was my 1st and last dog of today while at OC shelter today

Terrified in the shelter environment, very sweet and will take treats. She likes stuffed animal toys.

What happens to sensitive, emotional dogs who find themselves locked away? Confusion and fear.

How can you help this frightened puppy?

People who live in the area and who are willing to open their home to this scared shelter puppy can email [email protected].com

If you live out of the area but want to help this puppy find an adopter, please network her adoption information. Follow Fiona’s Facebook thread at this link.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

  1. Well THIS is indeed a SAD STORY::: way too young for “frosted faces” about the only rescue” I hear about out there in California… the sad won’t let out of State Rescues help as they would rather destroy than lose the few bucks in adoption fees I guess is the reason… HELL who know… I hope for the best for this girl to have one of the volunteers or a compassionate person come to this girls rescue….

  2. If she was in Arkansas and got along with other dogs I would foster her until she got adopted
    I am sharing

  3. With all the wealth in California – many with more money than they can ever spend – it would a refreshing to see some of them grow a heart and donate a good chunk of money to these shelters to ensure that these animals can be safe. This puppy needs and deserves a home, not a damn cell in some shelter that will put her down because no one steps up for her. Way too many shelters have hearts of stone – they need to step up and post events to get dogs/cats adopted instead of murdering them for convenience, space or lack of funds.

    • People always seems to take the easy way out…….easier to stick a needle in their leg than to put forth the effort to network and find them a good home. Sad, there are some stars out there that are animal lovers but I really don’t hear them doing anything for the animals! Come on people!
