A van full of show dogs was stolen from the parking lot of an In-N-Out fast food restaurant in Redding, California, and there is now a huge reward for their safe return. According to KRCTV News, there were 14 show dogs inside of a white cargo van when opportunistic thieves made their move.

What happened to the dogs?

The dogs were being transported by a handler from Seattle, Washington to Vallejo, California. On Wednesday, driver Tony Carter made a stop at the fast food restaurant and he left the vehicle running to keep the dogs inside cool. During a brief period of time, the thief stole the cargo van from the parking lot. The driver has stated that he doesn’t believe that the thief knew that there were dogs inside because the van does not have windows.

The huge reward

The reward has climbed to $30,000 for the safe return of the missing show dogs. Anyone who spots the white cargo van, described below, is asked to reach out to the authorities:

A white 2018 Dodge ProMaster Cargo Van with Washington license plate number BKD2048. The van has Seattle Seahawks sticker on the back and a number 12 in the rear window.

According to the Redding Police Department, rat terriers, yellow labs, and rottweilers are among the breeds of dogs who are missing.

Please contact 530-225-4200 if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of this vehicle or the show dogs.

  1. Possibly there was an overhang in the drive thru area and his van wouldn’t fit because of the height, but just hope this thief realizes what he has in the van and if they are in carriers, leave them somewhere so they can be seen and rescued.Hope the guy that did this never has a calm or peaceful life.Pleas keep us up to date on what happens.

  2. There’s a reason I carry an extra key with me wherever I go. I don’t take my dogs with me unless I take them to the vet or the groomer, but……….

The drive thru would have been a much better option. If he needed to use the potty, gas stations are a better option there.

I hope the dogs are found safe and sound and that the thief does NOT leave them in the car, in the heat, to cook alive. If so, and the filth is found, he needs to be charge accordingly (I’d prefer being roasted in an oven, but most people think that would be extreme).

  3. the driver of the van did what? went into get some fast food. how about a drive up window, I sure hope they find these poor dogs real soon. that idiot driver should be jailed for being such a fool.

  4. This driver did the right thing by leaving the air on for the dogs BUT – he mad a fatal mistake by assuming they were safe – now they are missing and God only knows what is happening to them – maybe they will be dumped along the road which will put them in more danger – PLEASE make a concerted effort to find them – a $30,000.00 reward may help and I sure hope so. They are in severe danger.
