In Hopatcong, New Jersey a local resident was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly ran over a cat on purpose with his vehicle and then bragged about it over social media.
According to the Hopatcong Police Department, Vasfije Cain has been charged with hitting a domestic animal and failing to stop and report the incident which occurred on August 22. On Facebook, Cain posted the following apparently referring to her son:
“As he drives mom around and runs over three cats, maybe people should keep their cats at their house and not on the street. So proud of him. Eliminating the cat population.”
In a Care2 petition created by a woman identifying herself as Michele B., co-workers have commented about reports of more cats, skunks and animals in the area dying from rat poison mixed in with tuna fish left.
There has been no update if the cat survived.
Cain’s Facebook page has been removed.
