A homeless, senior dog – held at a Kansas animal shelter – is desperate for someone to notice her. Lady, a 10-year old “Velcro dog,” is at the Great Plains SPCA and she is longing to be loved.
On Saturday, a heartbreaking post (and video) was made about Lady, and her quest for love:
I work with shelter pets every day, but I’ve never seen one try harder to get adopted than Lady. She waits at the front of her kennel and tries to make eye contact with every person that walks by. It’s heartbreaking, but important for you to see. This is just a 60 second glimpse of her day, but it tells you everything you need to know about her desire to be adopted…
Please continue to share her story.

Shelter information about Lady
Lady’s shelter biography reads, in part:
Say hello to our Lady. Ever heard of a velcro dog? That’s a dog that’s stuck to you like velcro. Well, that’s Lady.
Friendly to all, Lady loves people to infinity and beyond, including children. All she wants to do is cuddle and stay close to her people. When she’s in her kennel, away from people and without affection, she cries mournfully and while it sounds a bit funny, sort of like a cow’s moo, it’s terribly sad to see and hear. She’s really only truly happy when she’s with people, then it’s all tail wags and sloppy kisses.
