RESCUED by Coastal German Shepherd

Calista has been hidden in the quarantine area of  Carson Animal Care since Monday.  Who would even guess this friendly German shepherd is only four-years-old? What kind of life did she have before she was picked up as a stray? How could anyone look at their dog day after day and allow her condition as a once beautiful German shepherd to deteriorate like this?

Follow Calista’s Facebook page here. Notes on her health indicate the following:

” I called the shelter. Skin scrape was negative for mange. She had really bad fleas when she came in. No real diagnosis except for dermatitis and generalized alopecia (hair loss). Also, her teeth are very worn down.”

Volunteers all love her. Check out her video here:

      • I live in Chicago, wish to rescue her, impossible transport, maybe truckers, into German Shepherd rescue, in past rescued 5, now have 1 rescued. Zorkadoglady@yahoo,com. Thank you.

  1. Neglect and abuse is at a all time high–it dosn’t just seem to be, it is. Public is learning someone can walk off with a dog and not even have to show a I.D. drivers license or get a picture taken. No cost or free adoptions. No one who intends to abuse a animal will tolerate getting their picture taken with that dog. Protecting animals is within range–easy to do. One picture. The animals deserve this and the public is asking for this much. No more of what happened to Valerie–I have wondered who decided to rename her “Cargo” we all know Cargo is something you put in a box for shipping and never comes back.

  2. Calista poor dear, looks like she is a senior dog instead of only about 4. Really hope someone or rescue gets her and gives her the physical care she needs as well as the love she deserves. Why do people just leave their dog get like this and do nothing. Horrible people in this world that should never have any animals.

    • Marsha, please rescue her, I would,, in process of selling my bldg and buying another, we all will help with adoption and transport. Dog respect and caring individuals,.
