In an outdoor shopping mall in Kissimmee, Florida, a 21-year-old service dog was stolen from a Vietnam veteran late last week. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the woman seen stealing the dog.

The theft took place on October 28 after deputies responded a call to Old Town in reference to a theft of a service dog. The 67-year-old victim stated he has PTSD and had been at the shopping mall with his two Pomeranian service dogs. A woman began to argue with the veteran, and while the altercation continued, another woman came up from behind and and unleashed one of the dogs.

The entire incident was captured on surveillance video, and the suspect can be seen stealing the dog. The 21-year-old service dog  named Kira weighs six pounds.

The public is being asked to help identify the suspect and help trying to return Kira to her owner. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at 407.348.2222 or Crimeline at 1.800.423.8477.

  1. Why would someone do this? This sounds like a set up, the woman arguing distracting the Veteran from seeing the other woman steal the dog. I hope they are found and dealt with severely! This is about as low as you can get!
