In Hong Kong, a video of a security guard at a university shown beating a dog to death with a stick, prompted rage over social media on Friday. The disturbing video was filmed at China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing, showing the guard beat the dog over her head several times after two other guards caught and trapped the defenseless mother dog in a net.

According to the South China Morning Post, a student at the scene stated the stray dog was meek and had just given birth to a puppy on campus. PETA, Asia, joined in the criticism and asked college officials to stop beating stray dogs and use scientific and humane policies to manage the homeless animals.

Unfortunately, in China there are no specific laws against animal cruelty. On Sunday, however in the wake of the anger of animal advocates and social media outrage, the school stated they had killed the dog “for the safety of students and teachers” as it might have carried diseases.

“In the future, we will seek help from the police and animal protection groups to handle stray cars and dogs in a more appropriate way,” stated the school’s security team.

Police say they have teams dedicated to catching and handling stray dogs.

How shameful it is not to have humane animal welfare laws in this day and age – even in China.

  1. You fucken bastards!!!!! You beat a mother dog to death !!!!For What????? She’s trying to feed her baby and her….You people have no souls, you should be wiped off the face of the earth for such cruelty!!!Real brave of you assholes!!!!!!!

  2. Subhuman, ignorant Chinese workers who even eat dog meat so beating a dog over the head with a stick is nothing to these barbaric people. We even give money to China (noted in our current budget that passed a couple weeks ago). Even though there are advocacy groups in China and other Asian countries, it is very difficult to enforce the laws if any, and too many animals are killed in these countries. No concern for life of animals and even people. Evil and cruel countries that we deal with. Hopefully more people in these countries speak out on these cruelties.

  3. I like to grab that stick From him and shove it up his fucking ass to comes out his fucking mouth fucking dirtbags

  4. That is the stupidest reason I have ever heard , perhaps they should start beating the citizens of China that MAY HAVE a contagious illness. Actually the people responsible for this have NO BRAINS.

  5. China is indeed a third world country even though they like to think of themselves as our equal. I will not buy anything from China, that’s the only way to get back at them, hit them in their pocketbooks. RIP momma and probably puppy too.

  6. These BASTARDS need the same punishment I fucking hate these people they fuck all regards to life there are too many of these sick bastards about they deserve the same beating Why dont they regard something that has same components as us humans find his kids & do the same treatment to them & in front of the mother BASTARDS

  7. Brings me to hate China and the Chinese even more. Unfair i know because there are good Chinese, good orientals but there is something drastically wrong with so many. The law and rules are the worst and people and animals suffer for it. What a crap country.

    • I hate to tell you this. Throughout history in this country. Dogs weren’t treated very well unless they were hunting dogs. People were fearful and heartless.

  8. That is so disgusting and barbaric that these guards would beat a defenseless and meek dog who just had pups. Authority in China is sadistic and so ignorant. They always say that about dogs. They could have disease. Well, you chinese authority have a disease. It’s called fear based ignorance. You are afraid of what you don’t understand. It seems most of the society was raised like that

  9. Yeah they have to come up with some excuse gor their barbaric actions. Wouldn’t give China air if they were on a bottle.

  10. Such a cruel thing to do to a stray dog. They had obviously been caught and trapped, certainly there was something else that could have been done besides killing the poor thing. And pray tell what happened to her puppy?

  11. EVIL BARBARIC POS PEOPLE AND COUNTRY!!!! pure scumbags!!!! there was NO reason to harm this innocent dog – they are just sick, evil twisted POS!!!! for god sakes they eat dogs and cats – they are worthless garbage….Beyond inhumane!!! “they have to handle strays” WELL SCUM CHINA don’t help, don’t spay, don’t act human and help the voiceless NO they beat, burn, boil alive, skin and F eat these innocent babys!!!! there out there because of scum humans, homeless and CHINA is one of the worst disgusting countrys when it comes to animals!!!! I wouldn’t buy anything from this dirty shit country if my life depended on it…shame on all these scum including the creep taping and not helping…KARMA POS KARMA

    • America’s shelters know that we also abuse animals. They know breeding is out of control for many dog breeds. They know tacky people everywhere in this country do not care about their pets. They are abandoned when people move. They are thrown out of cars on freeways. They are let out to fend for themselves in the Deserts of the Southwest. Americans can be very cold and heartless towards their own pets. Their children see this and learn some very bad animal treatment. We need to fix ourselves. I’m not a bleeding heart. I appreciate all dogs and cats.
