Heartbreaking reality of 3 dogs with little hope at Texas kill shelter until…

Nearly every hour of every day, Texas kill shelters fill up with the innocent victims of abuse and neglect. The heartbreaking reality of dogs left to languish in the streets – just to be surrendered or captured by animal control and then locked  away into tiny shelter cages to await their deaths as they are walked down a lonely hallway, muzzled and injected with poison.

When Rescue Dogs Rock NYC’s co-founder Stacey Silverstein spotted the photos  and watched the two puppies clinging to each other, she immediately reached out with an offer to help. Tragically these two puppies had been surrendered by their owner. How could anyone let mere puppies wind up like this?

“Where is the respect? Where is the humanity?,” Stacey asked on the group’s Facebook page as she posted the heartbreaking video of the puppies and an adult dog found in horrible condition. “They came into this kill shelter in this condition, thrown onto the hard concrete disease infected floor in obviously critical and weak condition.”

There is no blood relationship between the two puppies and the larger dog- that is except for their poor physical condition and the fate the three were about to face.

“We are so disgusted everyday to be confronted with this harsh reality,” Stacey continued. “Once again we will be their protectors and saviors and get them the help they so desperately need.”

As of Thursday afternoon, all three of the dogs have been moved and are safe and receiving medical help. The larger dog has been named Mulani. The puppies are now known as Po and Mishi. Their new lives begin today. It is hoped they survive.

  1. Thank you, RDR NYC for saving these three sweethearts. I almost didn’t read the article because I thought that they were going to be destroyed. Thankfully, they were rescued. Sharing via Facebook & Twitter for funds to pay for their medical care & vetting.

  2. I promise, when I start getting a regular income I will be donating to this organization rescue dogs rock. God bless you for all you do.

  3. Thank you for rescuing these poor babies! This shelter and its staff should be ashamed of this horrible place and the politicians and Texan citizens too!

  4. I don’t know what Texas’s dogs would do with out Rescue Dogs Rock NYC! I know they can’t save them all but they are at least making a dent in the problem. Bless them!

  5. Soooo, when an owner surrenders their pets, and it is blatantly obvious they were abused, not fed, not cared for…..DOES ANYTHING HAPPEN TO THE MONSTERS??? At least put their name on a national registry SOMEWHERE so they may never ever for the rest of their useless lives be able to adopt, purchase or live in the same home as a companion animal!!!!

  6. I would be Totally Ashamed If I had to say Texas was my home state!!! What a group of people so JADED to the condition of their shelters, the horrific abuse, neglect, torture, maiming, and down right EVIL treatment of their animal population… without RESCUE DOGS ROCK NEW YORK intervening and assisting in Saving as many little creatures that have been to Hell and Back down there it would even be worse… Greg Abbott ” who incidently CALLS HIMSELF GOVERNOR”” should be ashamed of himself for sitting there in the mansion with his dogs, and wife living in splendor While he makes NO and I Mean NONE , NADA attempts to start programs for the betterment of the animals that are suffering… Maybe he could barter the sale of Texas back to Mexico … because it is becoming more and more like Mexico daily!!! Shame on this “”NO STAR STATE ” for making no attempt to INPROVE the SITUTATION for the Helpless, Homeless, and Neglected animals to get their health and become members of caring families…

    • I agree w/you 150% – this hell hole masqueraded as a shelter is beyond pitiful – to allow these poor neglected animals to just sit and wallow in that disgusting room shows exactly what the state of Texas thinks of animals – disposable objects. This state’s population treats animals so poorly and who gets punished – the innocent defenseless animals, that’s who! How many dogs/cats have been rescued from Texas death chambers by Rescue Dogs Rock NYC? Way too many since Texas does nothing to help animals, they stick them in a filthy, vile cell and leave until they are murdered. Greg Abbott needs to hang his head in shame for not doing one thing to step up and institute programs to help animals. His actions, or lack of, are deplorable and I, too, am glad I don’t live in a state where animals are treated like disposable objects.
