In a rural area of South Texas, the rescue of a litter of puppies discovered living in a dried well with no food or water is currently underway. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were called early Thursday morning to help; it was an urgent life-saving plea; and to make the situation even more dire has been the absence of the mother dog.
“PUPPIES IN A WELL WITH NO FOOD OR WATER. WHERE IS MOM ?! We do not know,” co-founder of the rescue organization Stacey Silverstein posted on Facebook updating animal advocates and followers of the dangerous situation. “We cannot leave these innocent puppies to die a slow death as they fight to stay alive in the cold, dirt, inside a well in the middle of nowhere.”
The puppies are beginning to leave the well area and are wandering away. In a deserted area like this, there is the fear of the puppies being attacked and killed by coyotes.
At this time the medical condition of the puppies is unknown. There are at least six puppies. Volunteers are desperately trying to locate the mother. volunteers will stay until all are safely removed and transferred to the organization’s partner veterinarian hospital where they will be examined and treated.
