A former City of Buffalo worker, who stabbed a senior pit bull, has been sentenced for the felony animal cruelty crime. According to WIVB News,  47-year-old James Craddock has been sentenced to two years in jail, in addition to a $500 fine, for stabbing a nine-year-old dog named Audi.

After the cruel incident, Craddock was fired from his job as a seasonal parks employee with the city – he was in a city of Buffalo, NY, truck when he attacked Jillian Mann’s dog. Craddock apparently targeted the dog because he does not like pit bulls – Mann has stated that her dog did nothing to deserve Craddock’s violent attack.

After sentencing, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said “The actions of this individual were reprehensible and violence towards animals will not be tolerated by this office. I will continue to aggressively prosecute those who do harm to defenseless animals.”

Audi has since recovered from her injuries.

  1. Me Flynn, maybe you should train some of the other judges and attornies as to the proper treatment of animal abusers. Thank you and continue to clean the abusers out.

    • Everyone makes mistakes that are not the greatest there life time. But judging them is not the way to hanlde it. I am sure that you have made plenty of mistakes and your life im not saying what he did was wrong beacuse it was very wrong but dogs die mist likey 100 times aday get over it it was 9 years old! There must be something mentally wrong with james and he cant help it but i dont think he would ever evet kill anyone in his life so watch what you say

  2. Two years and a $500 fine? I don’t think the cost to save this dogs life would be covered for a mire $500. And the owner of Audi won’t benefit from the fine. Who pays for Audi’s pain and suffering?

    • The court probably got the fine not the owner, they did say in the previous article that “The city parks commissioner has assured the family that they will not need to worry about veterinary bills from the attack” hopefully they made good their promise.

  3. All I can say is that good riddance – two years may not be what this maggot deserves but at least he received some jail time and not just a slap on the wrist. Craddock is nothing more than a bottom feeder who attacked an innocent dog because he wanted to – fortunately, Audi survived and fully recovered. He should be held responsible for all of Audi’s medical bills.

  4. He INTENTIONALLY inflicted pain on an animal.
He should have gotten a minimum of 5 years in jail and a $10,000 fine, and a life time ban on owning or living in the same home as a pet.
Two years will just be a paid vacation for this ugly monster!
