On Sunday morning, David and Louise Turpin’s 13 children were discovered handcuffed to their beds in Perris, California. The couple’s two family dogs, however were found in perfect health.

According to the Sun, Animal Control Officer Christina Avila stated both of the one-year-old female Maltese type dogs were leash trained and very friendly.  They will soon be made available for adoption with the City of Perris who plans to hold a raffle to re-home the dogs together.

In direct contrast to the dogs however, police found the children so malnourished their growth had been stunted both physically and mentally. The siblings ranged in age from two-years to 29. David Allen Turpin, 57, and Louisa Anna Turpin, 49, denied 75 charges of child abuse, torture and false imprisonment after appearing in court on Thursday in Riverside.

Had it not been for the 17-year-old girl in the family who managed to escape from the “house of horrors” and notified police, how much longer would the egregious abuse continued? The children had been routinely shackled with padlocks after one of them had tried to escape when tethered with ropes. Most of the time, the children remained chained up and were only allowed to shower once a year. Forbidden to use the toilet, they were forced to urinate and defecate on the floor besides them. If at anytime they washed their hands “above the wrist” they would be accused of “playing with the water” and beaten.

As for eating, the children were starved while their parents would tease them with delicious pies and treats they were never allowed to have. And the tortures continued.

The teen who escaped told authorities she and another girl had been planning to leave for two years  – the other girl turned back in fear.

The couple pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of torture, 12 counts of false imprisonment, six counts of child abuse and six counts of abuse of a dependent child. David Turpin also faces a charge of performing a lewd act with a child under 14.

Both defendants are being held in jail in lieu of $12 million. If found guilty of all charges, they could spend the next 94 years in prison.

  1. 94 years is too short for them! And the children are all wearing t-shirts that says THING? Is that what the parents think they are, just things? The couple is very mentally sick.

    • I noticed that, too. These children, referred to as “things,” were starved, strangled, chained up while the depraved parents got married 3 times at “The Church of Elvis.” Evil creeps!

  2. Oh my gosh! what monsters are these that roamed the streets???????
I pray they stay in prison the rest of their lives and find out what it’s like to be imprisoned and sexually and physically abused.

  3. Death penalty. Why waste tax payer money on feeding and housing these deadbeats..or better take them on a boat and dump in the ocean and leave them there to die…they don’t deserve to keep polluting this earfth with their sick negativity and let them poop and pee in their cells and forced to live in it until their fate is determined….why did that idiot keep having kids?

  4. I am mortified to read this article and to know that more evil lurks in our world in ways I never imagined!! And two are adults! The punishment on these two people as parents of these 13 Will not be enough or justified!
