An emaciated dog, identified as having been named Leo, was found dead in a suitcase under overgrown shrubs at Harehills Cemetery in Leeds, Great Britain, on Wednesday.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, RSPCA inspectors stated Leo, a four-year-old bull terrier, had suffered terribly before he died. Inspector Sarah Mason described the dog had been wrapped in a towel and crammed into the black suitcase.

“He was in a shocking state with almost every bone in his body visible. The collar he had around his neck was just hanging off him,” the inspector added.

The dog weighed 25 pounds – less than one-half of what a dog of his size, age and breed should have weighed. How Leo must have suffered experts agreed. The dog had been micro-chipped, but when his last known owner was notified, living more than 200 miles from where the dog was found dumped, the woman said she had re-homed her dog six-months prior using the Internet.

Inspector Mason is asking the public to help find Leo’s torturer. The dog was wearing a red leather Wainwright’s collar with white stitching. He had been wrapped in a light gray Hugo Boss towel. The suitcase was black with a silver logo in the shape of an infinity sign. The extended pulling handle was broken. Inside of the suitcase was a pair of women’s turquoise colored pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the RSPCA hotline at 0300 123 8018. Help Leo find some justice. Nothing could be more tragic than this dog’s suffering. How could anyone be so callous?

Rest in peace Leo. We are so sorry humans failed you.

  1. POS. To both humans who did this dog bad!!!!!! No wonder I hate humans. The one who gave away just as responsible as the one who did this. RIP. Leo.

  2. I’d like to take whoever did this to poor Leo, starve them till they’re almost dead, stuff them into a suitcase and hide it so no one can find it! May the POS rot in hell!

  3. Pleas help find this dogs so-called owner and have him/her prosecuted to the fullest extent of British law. I hope the Queen, who is a dog lover is made fully aware of all that happens to dogs in her country and does something about this abuse, torture and basic non caring of an animal. All this dog probably wanted was a little loving, something to eat and a warm place to lay down and instead got nothing! Same should be done to the owners and all that abuse and torture these innocent animals.

  4. Whoever did this to Leo I would like to see you fucking suffer I hope you come down with the illness that will make you suffer you fucking scum

  5. Any HUMAN that does this to an animal needs stood up in front of a firing squad and shot. No sympathy at all. This creatin what did that doesn’t deserve to breath clean fresh air. Find them and shoot them on sight.

  6. I hope that they find this SCUMBAG who did this to Leo. Karma will get her revenge on you I guarantee it SCUMBAG
RIP Leo you did not deserve this

  7. I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO JUST WANT TO TORTURE THE BASTARDS TILL EVERY DAMN BONE IN THEIR BODY WAS BROKEN. YOU ROTTEN USELESS POS ASSHOLES. I HATE ANIMAL ABUSERS AND CAN ONLY THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH I WANT TO TORTURE AND KILL THEM.

  8. There needs to be a certain prison where everyone all over the world goes. In this prison will be in each cell an animal abuser and a great big, strong and angry animal lover.

  9. Using the internet to rehome an animal is putting it in extreme danger – there are so many cruel and dangerous humans who troll internet sites looking for animals – dogfighters, bunchers (who sell animals to laboratories), flippers (who make a living by selling animals to whoever will pay) and the scum who get their kicks by torturing animals – all documented cases on the fates of animals sold or posted free on internet sites. Leo is a prime example of what can happen to ANY animal posted on the internet. Leo deserved much better and thanks to an idiot owner abuse and murder was Leo’s fate. Hope you are regretting your stupid decision.

  10. There has to be fingerprints or other DNA on the suitcase. Come on, investigators, do your job. RIP Leo. I’m sorry you suffered so horribly for at least 6 long, torturous months.

I can barely stand to read all of the stories of neglect and cruelty. Then I think: “Hey, you only have to READ about it – those poor dogs (and other animals) had to LIVE it.”
