In Pleasant Grove, Texas, an emaciated and injured dog had been left tethered to a tree with no access to either food or water. The dog’s owner, Trevor Deamon Kennedy, 48, was arrested on Thursday and charged with animal cruelty to a non-livestock animal.
According to the Dallas News, Kennedy kept the three-year-old pit bull and boxer mix named Bella tied to a tree. The SPCA of Texas took custody of the dog after Kennedy surrendered her on September 28. Earlier that day, investigators found Bella noting her spine, hip bones and ribs prominently sticking out. The chain around her neck had seriously cut into her flesh.
Bella is currently in the care of the Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center.

I’m glad his dog will survive and sending Thoughts and Prayers for him to heal well and recover so thst he can start over with a family who will love and care for him, preferably not in Texas, though i guess there are a few good people there somewhere who actually respect living creatures.

Sadly this dog’s future is not guaranteed. Texas like California and mist other states, is overflowing with bully breed dogs in shelters and on city streets as strays. Texas has the worst problem with overpopulation and inhumane treatment of comoanion animals. This.dog may get out of a shelter alive because of media attention to her story. But for every Bella test walks out of a shelter alive there are hundreds who leave in body bags or the back of rendering plant truck.
