The search is on for a service dog who belongs to a military veteran diagnosed with terminal cancer. Murphy, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, belongs to 72-year-old Morris Collins, who is currently hospitalized. As reported by News 3 Las Vegas, Murphy disappeared two weeks ago from Morris’ home in Centennial Hills.

Finding Murphy

Collins’ neighbor, Jacki Scaturro, is heading up the search effort for the missing dog – she hopes to reunite Collins and his beloved pet as soon as possible. Scaturro told KTNV, “He is very ill, and this will make him whole again. In the last weeks of his life, I want to bring Murphy home.”

Scaturro has been utilizing social media to raise awareness about the missing dog – two days ago she wrote:

Murphy is still missing.
It’s been two weeks now since he’s been gone.
Last sighting of him that I know of was Thursday Dec 6 in the evening time on Oso Blanca & Durango.
Murphy’s owner (my friend /neighbor) has been diagnosed with cancer & still in the hospital. I recently broke the news to him that his beloved service dog is missing. As expected, it crushed him.

Adding:

He has maybe a few months left & he doesn’t have much family. My goal is to be able to find Murphy safe & walk him into that hospital. PLEASE SHARE & help me bring back Murphy. He is very much missed!

Please call if you see Murphy
