Update 7/30/18: Yoda was adopted!

A friendly dog’s final day alive looms after over a year at a California animal shelter. Yoda arrived as the Los Angeles Animal Services – South Los Angeles Shelter in early July 2017 and now, after so many months, his time is drawing to a close.

A Volunteer Writes About Yoda

In February 2017, on the volunteer-run Facebook page Friends of South Los Angeles Animal Shelter, a video and a tidbit of insight were provided about this homeless dog:

Yoda’s day out!! 7yo Yoda (A1713452) has been @southlaanimalshelter since July 8 2017! He had a fabulous day out playing ball, getting a bath, meeting a female dog, and eating lunch with volunteers. He’s a happy dog ready for his #foreverhome!

Saving Yoda

Yoda needs help – right now. After over a year in the shelter, he has become a “death row dog,” something which is entirely out of his control. Time is of the essence…Yoda must be out within 24 hours.

You can help save Yoda’s life by taking a minute to share this article with his adoption information. Networking saves lives!

  1. Please adopt or foster Yoda. If you are in the area of this shelter, please do what you can for this dog or find others who might be interested in him. He is a good dog, friendly, loves to play and would be a wonderful addition to any family or person. Praying for Yoda to find his forever home.

  2. There has to be a rescue that can take him in and actively work to find him a home. He doesn’t deserve to die like this. He has trusted everyone at this shelter to love him and take care of him and now they will betray him to his death. Monumentally wrong and unfair.
