No one knows what happened to a three-year-old friendly Boxer named Don when he disappeared one week ago in a Tampa, Florida neighborhood. His owner, Michell Mitchell searched the area for her beloved dog; she found Don on Wednesday in a trash can, and she seems to think he may have been brutally tortured. His body has since been exhumed by authorities.
According to Fox News, her dog’s lifeless body was found in a trash bin close to his home. A metal air conditioning duct pipe had been wrapped around his neck, and a hole in his hind leg could have been caused by a gun shot. When she discovered Don’s body, Michell called the Tampa police to investigate, but the officer told her the dog had likely suffered an accident. Michell, however stated the officer just opened the lid to the trash can and closed it right away.
After Michell turned to social media asking for help, the Hillsborough County Animal Services decided to exhume Don’s body to establish the exact cause of death. Radiographs have been ordered to determine if this is an animal cruelty case authorities plan to investigate further.
According to the Tampa police, there has been no information made available leading them to suggest Don had been tortured nor any criminal wrongdoing.

The police didn’t wan to investigate this so to them it was a closed case-accident to dog. No so the owner feels and by all accounts she is doing the right thing to have this investigated further. This is like her child and you would do this for a human, so investigate the mysterious way this dog died too. Hope this helps give her closure.

First of all my sympathy to this beautiful boy’s owner, Michell – I am so sorry for your loss. I hope and pray the authorities are able to determine the cause of his death and can help bring closure to this terribly sad event.
As for the police, how do they think Don could possibly got a metal aircondition duct pipe around his own neck and put a hole in his own hind leg? For a start, a aboxer’s head is quite large compared to their neck, so I doubt he would have slipped it over his head without assistance. As for the hole in his leg, ok a canine tooth could make a large deep hole, but not without some bite evidence from the neighbouring teeth. Wake up officers, you just don’t want to know – if a dog (even a pedigree) looks remotely like a pitbull (though a boxer has a square head), you just wipe your hands.
Seriously, an “accident”? A metal duct pipe wrapped around this dog’s neck and a hole in his leg and dumped in a trash can and this moron of a cop called it an “accident”. More like the dumb ass cop didn’t want to be bothered. I hope someone takes this seriously and they find whoever did this.
