A dog who lost his snout in a vicious machete attack in the Philippines has found a forever home with an Oregon rescuer. After nearly dying in the attack, the mixed breed pup, named Wacku, spent years with a Filipino rescue group, with little hope of finding an adopter because of his disfigured face, reported Inside Edition.
But everything changed last month when he was brought to the United States by Road Dogs and Rescue – Liesl Wilhardt, who heads up Luvable Dog Rescue in Eugene, Oregon, learned about Wacku and decided that he was meant to live with her. Wilhardt said, “I had this gut feeling that he would be really happy with me and my dogs. It wasn’t just how shocking his features are, but he seems so intelligent and social and I just thought, ‘What a survivor.'”
Wacku joins another famously disfigured pooch named Picasso, who also lives with Wilhardt.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
So great to see. Every dog should have a home and this fellow and his friend are very lucky in deed. They found a special person that recognizes their value.
WOW!! I remember Picasso. Now he has a friend who he will enjoy playing with. Dogs have no sense of difference. Only how nice and friendly the other canine is. What a wonderful person to adopt Picasso and now Wacku. May they all have wonderful lives together.
Awesome!! Thanks for saving them both. We need more humans like you.
Bless this sweet loving woman for adopting and loving these 2 beautiful babies

This just proves there is a person for every dog! So happy for both Wacku and Picasso!
Thank u to the wonderful women who adopted both of these precious dogs!
Liesl Wilhardt, You have one beautiful heart. Hugs and love to you and the dogs.
HUGE THANK YOU to Ms. Wilhardt for stepping up and adopting Wacku. You were able to see beyond the disfigurement and take him into your family and give Picasso a lifelong friend. You have a giant heart and if there were more people like you ALL animals that were not perfect would have homes. You are a hero for all dogs who are not perfect in looks BUT perfect in heart and that is all that counts.
Thank you to such a wonderful woman!
