Dog forgotten after fire

Months ago, two dogs were taken to a busy California animal control agency because there was a fire at the house where they lived. Fast forward to today – one of the dogs has been adopted and the other continues to wait to be noticed because his owner didn’t come to get him.

More about the forgotten dog

Six-year-old Clyde is in a bad situation – he has been at the Los Angeles Animal Services – East Valley Shelter since mid-September. According to Rita Earl Blackwell, a professional photographer who volunteers time taking pictures of homeless dogs, Clyde is “unseen” by the public because he is in the medical portion of the shelter. She writes:

Calm sweet boy entered the shelter with a female (already adopted) when there was a fire at their residence. The owners did not return for them. He’s got a fatty mass on his chest. And his blue eye patch has sweet gray frosting coming in! He’s back in the medical department receiving extra care so he’s UNSEEN by the public.

Saving Clyde

Months have passed and Clyde continues to wait…he hasn’t been rescued or adopted and he needs some help. Please take a moment to share this article and help Clyde find a new family (one who would never consider walking away from him).

  1. Please give Clyde a chance at a second forever home. Not sure if the owners are even aware that their dogs were found but this guy needs out. The other dog has since been adopted and all Clyde wants is a loving, caring home where he can be petted all day. He looks so adorable and deserves another chance.

  2. So very sad that Older dogs are so often overlooked … It looks as if the boy would be a good support animal in a facility for elders… so many of them love to have an animal there to pet and love on and they are so very comforting…. Bless him ..and may he get someone to take a chance on him this holiday…

  3. Clyde is so beautiful!!! Why do they have him in the back??? How is anyone going to be able to adopt him if he’s in the medical unit?? Get him outta there so he has a chance!! Please!!!
