A faithful dog is being hailed a hero for saving his owner, who was being stabbed by a man in Corpus Christi, Texas. According to KRISTV, the authorities learned about the life-or-death situation after the suspect reached out for help after being bitten by the devoted dog.

What happened?

The violent encounter took place on Sunday evening in the 800 block of 18th Street near Coleman Avenue. The victim had been talking with the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Tomas Rosales, when things turned ugly. According to the victim’s statement to the police, Rosales attacked him with a knife while his back was turned – the dog defended his owner, likely saving the man’s life.

The dog’s fate

The dog has been placed into a 10-day quarantine at the local animal care facility. At the culmination of the quarantine, the dog will be returned to his owner. The man accused of the knife attack was treated for his dog bite wounds and then taken to the Nueces County Jail; he is facing a charge of  aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

  1. The dog save his owner’s life and was quarantined because……………???????????????///
    That dog is a hero

    • It’s standard procedure – just to be sure the dog doesn’t have rabies. That they are releasing the dog back to the owner after the quarantine and there has been no mention of doing anything to the dog is a good thing. Again, quarantine is standard and NOT a punishment for the dog. I know it seems harsh, but this way they can monitor the dog and make sure that there are no signs of rabies or other diseases that could have transmitted to the owner’s attacker, who the dog did bite.

  2. Hurray:::: For the Victim and His Dedicated Dog.!!!! Don’t let that bastard go and walk free down there in TEXASS Now without making him serve time!!!

  3. Thank God for our faithful dogs. I do hope they release him after the 1o days, I dont trust some of these shelter, they can make a big deal out of nothing.

  4. What is that thing? It’s not human. And the dog gets quarantined???? Better have the dog checked because I’m sure that neanderthal-appearing savage maggot has some kind of disease the dog could have caught.
