Dog pushed out of moving car chased his owner as the car drove away

In Okeechobee, Florida, a heartless driver pushed a dog out of a moving car and never looked back. The loyal dog, having no idea what had happened, chased the owner of the blue car for at least a block, and then sadly realized he had been abandoned.

According to CbsNews12, area resident Ray Cashwell, witnessed the entire situation unfold on Highway 70 Tuesday morning.

“The door opened and I saw the dog getting thrown out… The car took off, I mean took off and the dog chased it,” Ray stated. “It’s like throwing your kid out the car to me.”

The small dog was frightened and Ray’s efforts to call him over failed, so he called The Trail of Hope Animal Rescue in Okeechobee for help. Volunteer Lisa Stark rushed to the scene and was able to capture the pooch she dubbed Bill.

Bill is being monitored at Okeechobee Animal Control and is expected to be turned over to Hope Animal Rescue for care and future adoption.

There are so many ethical routes to take to surrender an unwanted dog. Why take an innocent pet for a ride and throw him out into the street where he could get hit by a vehicle, starve to death or attacked by other animals? It is against the law to abandon a pet – how could anyone be so ignorant?

Thank you to the hero who got this dog help. I wish there was some way to see the license plate, but when it happens so fast, I think good people are in shock that someone could do that and the people who do this already have a get away plan.

Agreed. The POS’s who do these awful actions have their whole abandonment planned. “Normal” people do NOT think or act like this……

Did anyone see the car or the license plate to maybe track down the owner so he can be arrested? Hope this scum gets caught and taken to jail.

Huge THANK YOU to all who cared and rescued Bill – and hopefully a kindhearted person will give him the safe loving home he was denied. AND to the maggot who dumped Bill – a fatal car accident is what you so well deserve and that you don’t die instantly, may you live for a time suffering painfully and no one cares – you need to pay dearly for your cruelty to an innocent animal.

I sure wish there was a way to find out who the owner is and punish them TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!! Including placing their name on a national registry so they may never have another pet or live in the same home as one.
