In Stockton, California, a property manager heard a dog whining and crying and was shocked when he found a small white dog tied to the bathroom sink a week after the tenants moved away.

According to Kate’s Rescue for Animals, the dog named Autumn had been tied to the sink by the owners.

“She was tied under a bathroom sink for the last week, alone, following an eviction. They left her with a bowl of Raisin Bran, tied up and cleared themselves from the apartment. Property managers were not allowed in for the week and had LEO escort them on to the property where they heard her crying. Soon everyone was crying because of the severe injury. The property manager called her sister who contacted a fellow rescuer and posted for help.”

Autumn was rushed to the Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital where her collar had caused a severe injury around her neck. She underwent emergency surgery and a drain was inserted into her neck to keep fluids from building up.

On Sunday, Autumn had to be rushed back to the vet after her temperature spiked. Her drain had been healing over and that was unclogged. She has been cooled down with fluids and ice packs and administered an injection of another antibiotic. Tonight she will stay at the veterinary hospital and hopefully will be able to leave in the morning. Follow Autumn’s plight on Facebook.

A police report was submitted by the property manager along with photographs of the dog tied up and the severe wound to her neck. Veterinarian reports followed and collaborated the injuries. Authorities, however have stated the injuries were due to neglect – not abuse.

  1. WTF!!! May the owner rot in prison and then in “hell”! Better yet–May “hell” begin in prison!

Little angel Autumn, my prayers are for your full recovery and for a happy loving forever home!

  2. And just how is the “neglect” of tying a dog to a sink without food and water NOT CONSIDERED ABUSE of the most heinous manner???

    • You need to check your local shelters . There are millions of animals in the USA that need forever homes and apply through the proper procedures. A pet is a lifetime decision. Not just give me!

  3. Hope Autumn heals well and is quickly adopted into a loving home. The original owners if found, should be charged with some type of animal cruelty charges.

  4. Poor baby I pray she will be okay I hope the owner is charged have to start making examples of these so called people

  5. The previous owner/s derseve the death penalty by starvation bring chained in the same way! Hope this precious little one recovers and gets a loving forever home!

  6. WTF do you mean NOT ABUSE!!!! This is absolutely abuse and those owners need to be tied up and left in prison.

  7. The property manager knows who these subhuman scumbags are – they need to be found and charged – this IS animal cruelty and abandonment – and these hunks of sewer slime need to be held responsible. Autumn deserves justice for what these people did to her – and they need to pay for what they did – I am so sick of authorities bending over backwards to animal abusers and doing little to nothing to them – which only encourages them to continue their cruel actions. Please keep us updated on Autumn’s recovery – she deserves a safe loving home which is obvious that she never had.

  8. The “VERMIN” that actually were crass enough to have the audacity to treat any living creature like this IS NOTHING SHORT of A MAGGOTT!!! I certainly hope the LAW ENFORCEMENT and ANIMAL CONTROL track these Worthless beings down and PROSCUTE them to THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!! If people AREN”T held ACCOUNTABLE this will ONLY CONTINUE AND GET WORSE IF ATALL POSSIBLE!!!

  9. YOU KNOW WHO THE MONSTERS ARE THAT LIVED THERE…………………GET THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEGLECT IS ABUSE ….do not be stupid….the past tenants are responsible!

  10. Neglect, not abuse?

What, pray tell, is abandoning their dog for a week while tied up to the sink? Hugs? Kisses?

It’s animal cruelty, pure and simple, and because of what they did, their pet suffered a severe, possible life threatening injury!

Lock them up and throw away the key!

  11. Raisin Bran? Raisins can kill dogs! Please don’t feed your dogs grapes or raisins. Raisin toxicity is unpredictable and can happen after many instances of the dog safely eating raisins. No raisins and No grapes!

  12. Since when is trying a dog up giving it rain brand..didn’t mention water assume not ,considered neglect and not abuse ?? Wtf is wrong with you?? Say I tie you to a sink leave you cereal and leave knowing i wont be coming back ? Would you feel neglected or freaking abused ????? Get real …… i hope this baby heals and finds the love she so badly deserves. Btw if i heard a dog whining and crying and knew the pos that had lived there had gone screw that stupid 1 week crap … I’d go in and check it out anyone with half a brain would .. and you properly owner you know who these people are and if you dont help this poor baby the justice she deserves then you are no better than those sick bas***ds that did this to her !!!

  13. The “authorities” decided that the would was due to neglect and not abuse??? Did the donuts they gorged on give them brain fog? Neglect of that magnitude IS ABUSE!!! That’s why these loser, derelicts continue to abuse animals. They get away with it way too easily! This little dog looks like such a gentle little soul. How could anyone look at her and treat her like that? Some people don’t deserve to be treated like humans because they are NOT.
Because of her neck injury, I hope that whomever is fostering her and whomever adopts is aware that they should never use a collar to walk her and will instead use a step-in harness.
