Sad dog sits alone after adoption event

As the Indy Mega Adoption Event drew to a close on Sunday evening, one dog, left sitting in his cage, appeared to know that he did not find a home. As the event closed up, a photo was taken of the pit bull sitting inside of his cage…head low, body still, tail down.

Dogs know

Make no mistake, dogs are aware of much more than people give them credit for. This lone dog (Ali) certainly seems to be aware that he did not find a home. He appears to be heartbroken that all of the dogs around him left with new families, while he sits alone, still homeless.

He needs a home

The Indy Mega Adoption Event was a huge success – over 600 cats and dogs found new homes. But Ali went back to the shelter and he continues to wait for his special day to come. You can help Ali find a home by networking his adoption information on your social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest).

  1. Someone please give this beautiful dog a chance you will not regret it feel so sorry for him prayers he finds a loving home soon

      • Tragically, no. I will keep sending donations, no matter how long it takes, until he is adopted. I cannot believe this beautiful dog STILL has not found a loving caring home! Please keep spreading the word. Thank you.

  2. Ali has all good comments and will make some family a wonderful pet. Look beyond his size and meet him. Take him for a walk, sit with him and talk to him. Show him the love you would any other potential adopting dog. He looks so dejected and am sure he felt that way when he saw the other animals get out of their cages and go away with other people and he sat in his cage. See beyond his size and even foster him to help him find his forever home. There is someone out there for him. Just keep networking and having meet and greets.

  3. I was so Choked Up when I saw this particular Post yesterday I simply couldn’t even respond … having had dogs all of my life, I can verify that these magnificent Companion Animal’s are so Much More Intellectual than ANYONE GIVES THEM CREDIT FOR.. ALLI indeed had and STILL HAS A COMPLETELY BROKEN HEART over the FACT NOBODY wanted him… and I know that if any of Those of Us that are regular posters here would go and get him ourselves if WE were anywhere close. Myself live over two thousand miles from there.. Hopefully the Individual’s that had such a success with over 600 animals finding a home WILL NOT GIVE up on ALI..

    • I agree. I am in Northern California (way too far) & I have tears in my eyes for this precious treasure…….

I just want to snuggle him & reassure him the world is OK…..

I wish I could adopt them all, but our house is not a kennel…..

  4. Where is he at? Is he still available? I live in Michigan but would be willing to come and get him. He needs a good home and that I could give him.

  5. Stupid POS low life I just want to sedate this scumbag and cut off his head. Sick disturb fucked up idiot is all I can say and hope someone tortures the scum. Lives of puppies were destroyed, therefore his life needs to be destroyed.

    • Aloha, Carol
The entire cost for adopting Ali is $100.
Let me know if that is affordable for you. Otherwise, there may be help through donations. Please keep us posted.

    • Aloha, Carol

Thankfully, Ali is still available for adoption. Please click on the Petfinder link–they will get back to you very quickly. Through that process they will let you know the cost.

      Please keep us posted.

    • Michelle, I am very worried about Ali. It would be amazing if your brother could adopt. If this is possible, let me know how I can help. Thank you very much.

  6. Please please someone adopt this beautiful dog! My understanding is that there have been applications, but nobody follows through with the adoption! I know some of us would be willing to donate to help this sweet angel! She has been through one disappointment after another!

  7. Ali is sill facing one heartbreak after another. I am sure the shelter would sincerely appreciate donations for his care while we hope and pray for a super fast adoption.

  8. Update on Ali

I just spoke to Animal Care Services in Columbus, IN and Ali is STILL without a home! Fortunately, the people there deeply care about animals, but Ali is still very sad and seriously needs a loving, caring home. Please help Ali.

  9. Ali…you are such a beautiful baby with kind eyes. I pray you find a loving home very soon. I would take a road trip from VA to come and get you but it says you prefer to be the only pet (we have two pit mixes and two Rotties already.) I shared your story on FB and will keep checking on you for a happy ending update.

  10. Thank you so very much, Lisa. I check on Ali every day. I can’t help but wonder if Ali could adapt to a home with other dogs. In any event, he is not benefiting from all the heartbreaks at the shelter (even though they are doing the best they can for him).

  11. I know he is still there. I will continue donating monthly to his care FOREVER if that’s what it takes.

But, of course, my hopes and prayers are that he will find the loving home he so deeply and richly deserves.

  12. Don’t think my recent comment posted. I am donating monthly to Ali’s care and will continue indefinitely until Ali receives the loving caring home he deserves!

  13. I don’t think my last comment got posted. Yes–the tragedy continues. STILL–nobody has adopted this dear beautiful dog!
I will gladly continue to pay for his care until he finds the loving caring home he so deeply deserves!

  14. I think part of it is because he needs to be only one pet in a house? Also maybe new set of his pictures in petfinder will help? I will continue to check about his news regularly and keep on sharing about him as well.

  15. Aloha, TK and everyone trying to help Ali. I really appreciate your help. Whatever the circumstances, it is still taking way too long for him to find a loving home. I hope and pray he will be okay. My thoughts are that he probably will be okay as long as there are donations for his care. I will donate forever, if necessary.

  16. Cannot believe–STILL–this handsome sweetheart does not have a home! But I will never lose patience and will never stop supporting him!

  17. I don’t think my last comment posted. Unbelievably, Ali STILL does not have a home! I will remain patient and will donate to his care indefinitely!

  18. Its difficult to forget about Ali. I just posted about him last week. So sweet…I’d love to take him but read he is not good with other dogs…
I will keep posting weekly. I hope it helps. 🙂

  19. Thank you, Cassandra and everyone! I will gladly continue donating to his care, but he “desperately” needs someone who is able to give him a loving caring home!

  20. Aloha, TK

Since I am out of state I can only check on him by email or phone. He seems as good as any dog can be at a shelter, but he deserves so much more love and happiness. Only a loving caring home can give him that.

Thank you for all your help. I will never give up on him either.

    • Aloha, TK! I just found out Ali is adopted! Hope and pray he “stays” adopted! This is my “ultimate” Christmas present! I will keep you posted if anything changes. Thank you and everyone else, including Pet Rescue Report, so very much for caring! Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all!
