There she was – a 31-pound dog dragging a 10-pound chain wandering the streets alone; attached with a collar to a chain used for pulling engines out of cars. She was emaciated and scared when a volunteer from Stray Rescue of St. Louis was able to calm her and ultimately rescue the pooch now named Fallon Marie.

Fallon Marie struggled to survive on the streets. No one knew how she lasted as long as she did dragging the heavy weight behind her. Somewhere and somehow Fallon Marie had escaped from her captors.

Rescuers comment on Fallon Marie’s calm energy and her forgiving nature. Content to be scratched, grateful to be fed and forgiving enough to accept the human touch, one more dog is safe.

  1. Hopefully St. Louis is starting to make STRIDES in PUTTING a STOP OR at the VERY LEAST a LARGE dent in the horrific amount OF ANIMAL ABUSE in that area…. What a nice and gentle girl and I hope she finds a caring and loving home….

  2. I agree with Pamela and it should be even heavier and tighter around the neck of the person that did this. What ever is done to any animal cruelty situation, should be done to the person who cause the abuse. More heavy criminal charges once this scum is found.
