A young dog in Texas had been euthanized by an animal shelter and thrown into a pile of dead dogs this week. Apparently the dose to kill the young blue heeler was wrong or the procedure incorrectly performed. The dog survived; he was found roaming the streets – mostly blind as a result of the botched euthanasia process.

According to the Pflugerville  rescue group Cuz I Matter, the dog, now named Valor, is on his way to recovery despite the unbelievably inhumane experience he survived. On the rescue’s Facebook page, they wrote about Valor’s plight and what his survival has meant:

“This poor dog was euthanized and his body discarded. They botched the dose somehow and he woke up. He was later found wandering on a highway and he is now blind. Humans failed him. We could not let them kill him again. He lived for a reason and deserves a chance. So we drove hundreds of miles to meet his transport and one of our wonderful fosters has taken him in and is giving him love and attention while we look for his forever home. He is a little scared of people right now but do you blame him ? He does so well with other dogs. Please contact us if you have room in your home/heart for this special guy.”

Kathryn Lippert, a foster family for Cuz I Matter, has taken Valor into her home. For days, Valor didn’t want to be touched, didn’t want anything to do with a collar or a leash and even refused to take treats by hand. Head scratches and turkey slices are slowly convincing Valor life is getting better, and even though his recovery will be a long one, the pooch has already been wagging his tail.

Valor will begin heartworm treatment as well as given positive reinforcement so that one day this very deserving pooch will have a home of his own, and the awful experience he had will only be a faint memory.

  1. WTF?????? How does shit like this happen? One word – inhumanity. Fuck the human race. They’re a bunch of stupid, inhuman maggots.

  2. How sad and sicken at the same time this poor dog suffered so much and is now blind a place that calls themselves a animal shelter but all you do is kill them so what actually are you sheltering them from they need to be sheltered from places like this that have killed so many dogs they have piles just makes me sick I pray this dog has a happy life

  3. We need to speak up to our representatives that euthanizing our community’s animals is wrong. We all need to play a role in caring for and protecting our community animals, strays included.

  4. I somehow Imagine this as HARRIS County!!! I have thought for a week now about the 100’s of dogs those ” Shelters” If could even call it that have put down this past couple of weeks… I have really come to detest Even the Name of TEXAS!!

    • I agree with everyone. These maggots deserve to have done to them that was done to these beautiful gifts from heaven. Back yard breeders, animal abuse I’m sure there is a wonderful place in hell for all of you!!!

  5. This happened for a reason, God has other plans for this dog, we just don’t know what they are yet. You will have a great life Valor!

  6. Mandatory spay & neutering should be a law in Texas or you pay $2000.00 fine or even higher. This includes so called puppy mills and backyard breeds. Anyone who is selling or even giving away a puppy that their dog had, must be made to pay a fine. These scum need to be found and no more reaping the profit off of these dogs, especially in places like Texas where it seems the State Government and Governor don’t seem to feel this is a problem.

  7. God bless you, miracle doggy! You sure showed them! Hope you now get the loving home you deserve! Donation coming.

  8. Valor is a special animal. He’s here for a purpose. So sorry for the other animals that didn’t survive the killing of this evil shelter life. Prayers and wishes for Valor and his new life. They all deserve so much Love. ❤????????????

  9. Its,really sad that these dogs cats are put behind bars and the real animals roam the streets if they have enough space in jail for criminals & killers there should be enough for innocent animals in shelters

  10. Where in Kyle, TX did this happen? There’s only one shelter in Kyle & it’s strictly a rescue – they pull from various shelters in Texas. Kill shelter for Hays Couty is San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter.

Regardless, this poor guy suffered the unbelievable & whomever is responsible should pay the consequences for their major F* up!! Shame on you!!

Thank you & God Bless you, Cuz I Matter Rescue for saving, caring for, and loving him!!

  11. When the dog, Daniel, survived euthanasia by GAS CHAMBER, his person became an advocate for ending the use of gas chambers. He was active in animal abuse issues and Daniel gained popularity across the country. He was invited to ride on a float in that year’s Rose Parade. Daniel made a difference. I hope Valor’s journey opens eyes to the senseless killing of healthy animals. God bless Valor.

  12. Of course its Texas – they keep right on proving their so called ‘shelters’ are staffed by inbred idiots – I would really like to know the name of this dump – I have a few words to say to this hell hole. Valor was blinded by this vile trash barrel shelter and then left to wander the cruel streets fending for himself. Thank God there was a group called Cuz I Matter who found him and saved his life. Texas certainly lives up to their lousy reputation as a state whose concern for animals is non-existent.

  13. I believe he lived to tell the story that euthanasia is not an answer. All they are doing is MURDERING these innocent animals with no regard for their life. It should be mandatory in every State to spay and neuter so the killing will STOP!!!
