This week, a dog was discovered abandoned in a garbage can at a welcome center along I-85 in Georgia. The Hart County Animal Rescue introduced the discarded dog to Facebook followers:
Meet Caroline, This sweet girl was found at the Welcome Center at Interstate 85 in the trash can pictured. YES! some piece of scum decided to just trash her.
She was freezing, wet, hungry and scared when someone heard her crying and found her in the trash can this morning. She is in the care of Lavonia Animal Hospital and getting the medical attention and love she deserves.
Update and Information needed
The young dog, estimated to be just one year of age, is in good health. The rescue group wrote:
Lavonia Animal Hospital did a wonderful job taking care of her for the night and seeing that she is fully healthy. She is in our care now, so please do not call Lavonia Animal Hospital asking about her. We are thankful that she is Heartworm Negative. She still needs to be spayed and other adult vetting required before she can be placed. She will not be ready for adoption until all vetting is taken care of and the stray hold is up. It could be anywhere from 7 to 14 days.
The rescue agency is hoping to learn who Caroline belonged to. The group wrote, “Y’all get ready to make this post go viral. We need your help in finding any information about this dog.” Adding, “Y’all get ready to make this post go viral. We need your help in finding any information about this dog.”
