A deaf dog, just one year of age, lost her home and now she is at a busy California animal shelter. The pit bull mix, dubbed Camilla, was found by a good Samaritan who tried to find her true owner…but after weeks of searching, it became clear that the owner was not going to be found.

Camilla was brought to the animal shelter after her finder was forced to find a new place for her to go because of the neighbor’s dogs. The situation is explained on Camilla’s social media thread:

Finder tried searching for the owners for 3 weeks but due to new neighbors moving in with dogs that wanted to tear the fence down to hurt her , being deaf she had no clue of the dangers . For her safety the finder had no choice but to take to the shelter.”

  1. I have a deaf dog now. She’s also handicapped and a little slow because she was abused. Poppy is the sweetest girl in the world and I wouldn’t trade her for anything. I’m hoping somebody finds it in their heart to take care of this girl. She should not have to be destroyed simply because she’s deaf.

  2. The finder couldn’t reinforce the fence? The neighbor couldn’t do something with their dogs? Now this dog’s life is on the line! Sad!

  3. Pray that Camilla finds a loving home that will look past her hearing loss. She is worth taking home and giving her the care and love she needs. Don’t let her die in this shelter.

  4. I will share an also pledge for Camilla! It sounds like her previous owners gave up 2 easily! Or they just didn’t care! Camilla will also b in my prayers!!
