In Nanango, Queensland, Serafina Foran had been searching for her missing dog for a week. On Sunday afternoon, he was found – covered in tar. Sadly, the dog’s physical condition was so severe, he was humanely euthanized.

According to the South Burnett Times, the two-and-a-half-year old dog named Miki was a Great Dane and Greyhound mix. It is not known if he had been beaten because there was so much tar covering him, no one could tell. Unanswered questions remain – was he trapped? Was he abused and then tar poured on top of him?

Miki was known as an escape artist, and although Serafina said she tried everything to keep him at home, chasing rabbits was just one of his passions. Whenever he and the other dogs in the family would go out for walks, they took the same path, and if Miki was out wandering, a neighbor would call and report his location. That was the routine until a week ago when the dog just seemed to have disappeared.

No one can figure out why anyone would have abused the rescue dog Miki; he was friendly, sweet and very lovable.

“To whoever did this, I hope you rot in hell,” Serafina told reporters.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RSPCA Emergency at 1300 264 625 and reference case # 749912.

  1. RIP Miki, hope you died knowing how much your family loved you. Sorry this was done to you and hope they can find the scum who do this and the same done to them and they slowly die. I am sure someone knows who did this.

  2. Oh my God, you know the person that did this to this poor boy is a very dangerous sociopath and needs to be removed from the streets. Hunt him down and hold him accountable with prison time, huge fine and banned from ever owning or being around any other animal for life.
RIP sweet boy Mikki, run free from evil man, you did not deserve such a heinous crime done to you or you’re family and such a young beautiful angel! So unbelievable! ?????

  3. I have never been able to fathom how any human could do something like this to a dog. There has to be something wrong with their brain to allow such behavior. Rest in peace sweet Miki and I agree with Serafina Foran, May they rot in Hell!

  4. To Serafina, I am so terribly for the loss of this lovely boy and send Thoughts and Prayers for Comfort and Peace to help you through this sad and difficult time.
I do however question the Vets decision to euthanise your precious boy, knowing ng that other dogs have been saved though having been the victim of the same dreadful pain and suffering. I would encourage you to get an official autopsy done and seek a second opinion and legal advice, if you have not already done so. Just because Miki was a rescue dog does not devalue his life, and should not have been a factor in the decision to euthanise him. I know this will be extremely difficult for you, but really do think you should look into it as there are watpybtoo many cases where Vets recommend euthanasia when there are precedent cases for restoring the animal to a good quality of life. If you find yourself stonewalled, please look into starting a petition to get action. RSPCA or AWL Qld I’m sure would steer you in the right direction on how to get this enquire under way. Miki deserves Justice, not just meted our to the perpetrator.
