Couple claims that trainer lost dog

A couple is distraught because their beloved dog is missing and they claim that he disappeared just over a week ago while in the care of a dog trainer in O’Fallon, Missouri. Tuck Eultgen, owner of Bobo the Saint Bernard, told KMOV News that he is in disbelief that a dog trainer lost his pet.

What happened to Bobo?

Eultgen was told that Bobo “got distracted” while learning a command – the trainer, with Hagnum-K9,  told him that the dog ran off after getting spooked. Unfortunately, the training area doesn’t have fencing, which seems perplexing for a business which is handling dogs who are in need of training.

Finding Bobo

Bobo’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds to hire a tracking agency to find the dog who disappeared on Tuesday, June 19. Bobo’s family has been updating the situation on a Facebook lost and found page. Apparently, as of June 28, there have been no sightings of the missing dog, despite extensive searches in the area surrounding the business where he seemingly vanished.

On the Facebook post about Bobo’s disappearance, his owner wrote:

He is 2 yrs old. 130ish lbs… do not approach he is very skiddish with new people and sometimes gets aggressive. He has his muzzle collar and leash on. Please call me at 314-853-2192

  1. How can a dog that large just disappear?

Why doesn’t someone who’s supposed to be a dog trainer have fencing in the first place?

Something’s fishy about this trainer, and I hope they get to the bottom of it.

  2. Any possibility this dog was sold to someone who wanted a St. Bernard. Hope someone has found this dog and just yet not reported it or taken him to a shelter. Hope he has been chipped. That trainer would not be recommended to anyone after this. How could you train a dog in a non fenced in area?

  3. Always check out every nook and cranny and every rating of a trainer if you are going to leave your pet with them for training. We see this too many times. Dogs lost, sold, stolen or even killed by trainers. I hope and pray they get their dog back. This is total negligence on the part of the trainer and if not found I’d sue them out of existence!

  4. I agree w/other posters who feel this crap trainer sold Bobo – this whole story is suspicious and I urge Tuck Eultgen to get the police involved – this story is unbelievable – no fencing to ensure animal safety, Bobo got distracted – well, who was watching him – dogs that go for training must be supervised constantly – this jerk is lying and I hope Bobo is found safe and returned to his rightful owner – and this so called ‘trainer’ is arrested.

  5. How in the world does a company take animals to train and DO NOT HAVE A SECURED area!!!???? This so called company should be held responsible and liable for the loss of this families fur baby!!!!
