In a copycat animal cruelty stunt, more video footage of teenagers on motorcycles chasing and harassing emus through a paddock in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley of Australia has emerged. The viral video has caused more public outrage as the terrified flightless birds ran for their lives.
With a GoPro camera in his hand and riding behind his friend’s motorcycle, one teen proudly filmed himself chasing the birds. According to the Daily Mail, Barree Egan-Laylor videoed the incident and stated this kind of cruelty has become more common and has been happening on a “regular basis” for about a year-and-a-half.
“These people think they are above the law and can chase our beautiful wild life,” Barree stated.
Barree reported the the incident to the police and to the RSPCA. She said five emus have been found on the road after being chased; one died and two more were seriously injured. She also showed a photo of emu feathers on the grass after one of the birds had been hit by a motorbike.
Less than ten days ago, another young thug laughed hysterically as he videoed himself purposely mowing down at least ten emus in South Australia. Jacob Macdonald, 20, has been identified as the alleged driver running the flightless birds over with his four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Macdonald has been charged with four animal cruelty offenses, speeding and using his cellphone while behind the wheel of a vehicle. The 40-second video quickly went viral and had been posted on Facebook in order to help identify the person responsible for the egregious action and report the thug to authorities. At least ten emus were killed as they frantically tried to run for their lives.
“As the emus fell one-by-one MacDonald counted ‘one, two, three’ when each bird was hit. “This is f***ing great. I’ve got that one too … and that one!,” could be heard in the video.
In this latest copy cat cruelty, the Victoria Police, Wildlife Victoria and the RSPCA are investigating. If found guilty of animal cruelty, the offenders could face up to two years in prison. Obviously it’s time to make one of these culprits an example which will likely save the lives of wild life.

This is not surprising but still just as horrifying as the last story which this group have copied. There always has to be someone go through the revolving door on someone else’s push. Seeing they’ve done it for their five minutes of fame, why not show their evil faces for all to see these morons? Being “under age” (if they were) doesn’t exempt them from the status of evil moron with the privilege of international face fame – let them have it and suffer their consequences. Meanwhile, come up with hefty charges that will curtail their activity for a long time, empty their bludging pockets and make sure they get psychiatric treatment for the duration of their internment just like the original morons deserve.
