A litter of puppies, cruelly thrown from a car in Escambia County, Florida, were rescued by deputies who responded to a call from a concerned citizen. The “Great Christmas Puppy Rescue” was shared with followers of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office yesterday – the agency wrote:

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a puppy rescue! These cute little guys were thrown from a vehicle today. Thankfully a concerned citizen called us and the men and women in green came to the rescue!

After the rescue

The deputies who came to help the abandoned puppies did more than whisk them away from harm – they also ensured that the pups got some cuddle time.

Puppies rescued on Christmas Day

Best of all, in short order the puppies found new homes. The sheriff’s office wrote:

Deputies brought the pups back to the ECSO where the deputies and dispatchers got some puppy time. All of the pups have been adopted and one was named “Tinsel.” Any suggestions for Christmas names for the other pups?

Thankfully none of the pups were injured!

No word on whether or not anyone saw who tossed the puppies from the car – but the most important thing happened. They were rescued and now have new homes – a Christmas miracle.

  1. So glad good people found those pups; now everyone has to wonder and worry for the poor mom and possibly the father, still stuck with those “people” who threw away all those precious pups to somehow fend for themselves and possibly be found by cowardly, angry sickos instead of good people. Sad world, thankfully animal rescuers make it a bit less horrible.
