This week, singer Christina Aguilera had to say good-bye to her elderly dog, Stinky, who was her treasured companion for years. The heartbreaking news was shared by Aguilera in an Instagram post on Friday:
I had to finally make the hard decision to put my beloved Stinky 🦊🐾🖤💔 down last night after an amazing 17 years together!
According to Aguilera, the Papillon was her “roadie” on many tours, as well as her faithful friend through break-ups and the other “ups and downs” of life. She wrote, “my 1st baby before I had any babies…The one and only forever 👑☝🏼🙌🏼”
Aguilera posted a video compilation of her beloved dog in photos and wrote:
RIP, Stinky…
Run free and with no more misery 💫🙏🏼
Rest in peace Stinky.

Rip Stinky
Heartbroken to hear this and knowing it is the most unselfish acts of mercy when we release our fur-babies from their suffering. I know they go to heaven.
My condolences to Ms Aguilera, any of us who has lost a treasured fur baby know the heartbreak well. Rest in peace sweet “Stinky” you were loved.
I’m not a fan of Ms. Aguilera’s music, but I am an animal lover, etc., which is why I was compelled to write this.
RIP Stinky; you will be united with everyone you love one day. Thank you for being such a faithful companion to Ms. Aguilera, her family and friends – you will not be forgotten!
Have fun in Heaven sweet boy.
My sympathy for your loss of your family member. I had mine for 13 years and it still hurts today when I think of her. Thank you for keeping Ms. Aguilera company for all those years. You were loved deeply, then and now. RIP.
