California rescue has one wish for Christmas: Find Lucy a home

At the Inland Valley Humane Society and SPCA, there is one wish for Christmas, and that would be to find Lucy a home. The sweet, 50-pound “pocket pittie” has been networked, yet no one wanting to adopt her have walked through the doors.

“We have walked her through the kennels to show her off but she is still here. We have featured her on social media but she is still here. Lucy is the longest ever resident at the shelter. She’s been in our care almost 5 months. 3 years ago she would have met a different fate,” the organization posted on their social media page Wednesday morning.

And now in the spirit of Christmas, the Pet Rescue Report is asking that every reader share Lucy’s story. Surely someone is waiting for her to become part of their family.

Lucy had been abandoned by her owners and was severely emaciated, anemic from ticks and didn’t trust anyone. The veterinarian team, staff and volunteers have worked diligently to rehabilitate this exceptionally sweet dog.

“She’s just fine now. More than fine. Amazing. She is happy day after day. She is a good dog. Loyal and loving. We do not understand why she has been passed up again and again. We know it’s because she deserves just the right family,” her description stated.

This dog loves to cuddle, snuggle and just be loved. She is between three and five years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. In addition, her adoption fee has been sponsored by the shelter’s vet team.
