For two years Bruce lived on the streets alone; he waited and waited for his family to return. In fact, the three-year-old pit bull and Labrador retriever mix was so loyal even though he was homeless, he remained on the same street where his owners  abandoned him when they moved away.

Bruce is now at the San Bernardino City Shelter and deserves a home and a family of his own. Neighbors had been feeding Bruce, and although the shelter staff agrees he is a very nice dog who gets along with people and other dogs, Bruce has become extremely depressed. His head hangs down as if he has nearly given up hope of ever being loved again.

Bruce needs human kindness; this dog needs to be rescued. Follow his Facebook page here.

  1. I’ll bet he thought about his family every day and they never even glanced back. I wish they would pursue animal cruelty charges

  2. As nice as it was for the neighbors to feed Bruce, why didn’t they try to get him a home? I take it none of them had it in their heart to adopt him. Prayers he finds a loving home.

  3. What a sad story and if someone showed this dog an ounce of love, he would be in heaven. Why can’t people see the good in dogs like this. A bit of kindness and he would be your loyal friend for the rest of his life. Please someone at least foster this dog so he can be in a home with a chance of a forever home.

  4. OF COURSE!!! The shelter’s are full !!! WTF:: this state of California won’t allow out of STATE RESCUES because they are afraid they will lose money on the adoptions… Yet ONE after ANOTHER is EUTHANIZED !!!!! BRUCE NEEDS someone to BE LOYAL to him and help him survive….as he tried to wait for him POS family to come for him… I hope the San Bernardino Shelter volunteers will come thru for ::: HE DESERVES A FAMILY RO LOVE HIM BACK!!!

  5. More useless fucked up owners. Amazing how they can enjoy life knowing they left their poor dog behind. I wonder how they would have felt if their parents left them behind and they should have because maybe they would have been dead long ago. A bunch of real assholes.

  6. You would think with as many people that are in California, they would have networkers to help place this dog. Come on people try harder!

  7. People that move and just abandon their pets should be charged the same as if they abandoned their children – there is NO viable reason for this – these so called ‘humans’ have no concern for anyone or anything but themselves and their selfish wants. Bruce deserved much better than to be stuck with a bunch of lowlifes – I hope he gets a new home where he is loved and cared for. And these assholes who left him totally deserve a date with a tractor trailer.

  8. This is heartbreaking!! Poor Bruce won’t someone open your heart to this poor loyal soul who was just left behind like he didnt matter at all. I will never understand how people can do this. I moved out of state with 5 big dogs and a cat and never once even thought about not taking them all with. I was renting for a while and had to lie and say I had 2 dogs, but you do whatever you have to do to take them with you. People suck!! Please help poor Bruce before they kill him because they will!!

  9. This just breaks my heart! This poor loyal boy. I will never understand how people can do this? I moved out of state with 5 big dogs (all rescues) and a cat and i never once thought about not taking them all with me. The thought never entered my mind for a second. I was renting at my new place and I did have to lie and say I had 2 dogs, but you do what you have to do. If the place your moving to doesn’t take dogs, then you need to find a different place. Simple as that!!! What the fuck is wrong with people? We live in a really fucked up society to let all these beautiful loving animals killed on a daily basis and yet there are idiots all around letting their dogs have puppies. It makes me sick!! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP BRUCE!!! He deserves better!!

  10. He is sooo cute. He should be ok as soon as gest to a normal home and family, with soft bed, living hands and words. Please, adopt this good baby.

  11. I think its appalling that a beautiful animal and pert just gets dumped by his family – but I find it equally appalling that neighbors just did nothing but fed him – did it not occur to one of them that he needed help??? yet not one of them was prepared to be responsible and actually act and do something even if they could not give him a home there are organisations and people out there who could have helped before now – QWhy did it take so long for Bruce to get the help he needed I so hope he is safe and happier now
